The aim of this resource centre is to give you access to some of the thousands of resources on the web to help you to design and build an effective web site.

Here you'll find links to sites that give advice and review software, sites that offer downloads of graphics and fonts (many of them free), and links to suppliers of the main web design and creation software.

• Free Graphics and Fonts: The Web has an enormous collection of graphics and fonts, and there are links to many free image, graphic and font resources on this page.
• Web Design and Usability: Web design and usability issues are critical considerations if you are building or specifying a website. Navigation, clarity, download speed and colours are all important. So is making your web site accessible to people with disabilities. The resouces on this page have been selected to cover a wide range of design and usability issues.
• Graphics Tools & Software: The tools to produce effective web graphics are invaluable. The Web is increasingly a graphic medium. On this page, we give you access to software and advice resources that will help you to source and produce excellent web site graphics. Software, such as Paint Shop Pro and Photo Shop (and all the resources supporting these software packages) as well as Flash resources, and image manipulation software such as JPEG Optimiser and Xara 3D software.
• Web Authoring Software: Once you have bought your web authoring software, there's a huge range of web-based resources to help you to use it more efficiently. This page has links to some of the more important resources for popular web authoring packages, including Dreamweaver, Namo Web Editor and FrontPage.
